Kathmandu : In a major development for Nepal’s tourism and hospitality sector, Chaudhary Group has partnered with Global Hotel Giant Marriott International to bring their iconic luxury brand, ‘The Ritz - Carlton to Nepal, marking the most significant high - end hospitality investments in the country. The Iconic Ritz-Carlton brand began in 1983 and is a part of Marriott International and operates in over 108 hotels and resorts across 30 countries and territories.

The groundbreaking ceremony of The Ritz - Carlton Kathmandu was held on Friday, 27th March 2026, in the heart of the capital’s tourism hub, Thamel. The project will feature 150 keys ultra luxury hotel and branded residences, commercial complex and casino.
This iconic project being developed on a 9-ropani prime site in Thamel near Durbar Marg, has an estimated development value of approximately NPR 1000 Crore and is targeted for completion by mid-2029. Once completed, the hotel is expected to command room rates exceeding US$1,000 per night, positioning Nepal as a high – end destination for discerning high - spending global travellers.
This is a symbolic move on part of CG Hospitality, and their partners demonstrating confidence in the private sector signaling future aspiration, growth and development under the new government led by PM Balen Shah. The project is being developed with a focus on generating additional employment, attracting investment and taking Nepal’s development to the next level.
According to Rahul Chaudhary, Managing Director & CEO of CG Hospitality Global, the entry of Ritz-Carlton reflects the group’s commitment to elevating Nepal’s tourism sector to a global level.
