The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by ICAN Executive Director CA Bimal Dangol and Tigg Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ramesh KC.

According to Tigg CEO Ramesh KC, the partnership aims to familiarise accounting professionals and students with modern cloud accounting systems and help them develop practical digital skills.

Similarly, ICAN Executive Director Bimal Dangol expressed confidence that collaborating with a world-class software platform developed in Nepal would further encourage the adoption of digital technology in the accounting sector. He said the partnership would provide accounting professionals with opportunities to work with digital systems while enabling students to gain practical experience with modern accounting solutions.

Under the agreement, eligible ICAN member firms will be able to use Tigg’s Basic Package free of charge for a lifetime. Similarly, eligible ICAN students will have access to Tigg’s Student Edition for academic learning and practical training.

Member firms receiving free access can use Tigg to manage their own accounting and financial operations. The platform supports cloud-based accounting, role-based user access, VAT and TDS management, financial and accounting report generation, bank reconciliation, and other related functions.

ICAN-registered member firms must create a demo account on Tigg and submit an online application to convert it into a lifetime-free account. Once an application is received, the firm’s eligibility will be verified against ICAN membership records. Following successful verification, the demo account will be converted into the free version, Tigg said.

Meanwhile, the Student Edition will allow ICAN students to practise accounting processes, including transaction entry, financial reporting, and VAT and TDS management. The initiative is expected to help students complement their theoretical studies with hands-on experience using modern accounting systems.

The Student Edition is intended strictly for educational and practice purposes. It cannot be used for professional accounting management for clients or other businesses, resale, or any other commercial purpose.

According to Tigg, as the accounting sector increasingly moves towards cloud-based systems, automation, real-time financial information, and digital collaboration, it is essential to familiarise accounting professionals and students with these technologies.

The partnership between ICAN and Tigg is expected to contribute to the development of a technology-friendly and digitally capable accounting community in Nepal.
