SCT Launches Access Control Server (ACS) Service in Nepal

Kathmandu : Smart Choice Technologies (SCT) has successfully launched its Access Control Server (ACS) service, marking a major milestone in the advancement of secure digital payments in Nepal.

The ACS is a critical component of the global 3D Secure protocol, enabling cardholders to authenticate themselves during online transactions and ensuring greater protection against fraud. With this launch, SCT has created a centralized platform that allows banks and financial institutions to adopt enhanced e-commerce security without having to invest individually in costly infrastructure.

Global IME Bank has become the first bank in Nepal to subscribe to SCT’s ACS service, paving the way for other institutions to follow. NMB Bank is also now live with the service, further expanding the adoption of this pioneering platform. With these collaborations, cardholders of both Global IME Bank and NMB Bank will benefit from secure and seamless authentication when making online transactions, setting a benchmark for the industry. SCT remains committed to driving innovation in the payment ecosystem and will continue working with its partner banks to expand the reach of this service.

The introduction of ACS by SCT represents a breakthrough in Nepal’s digital payment landscape. By offering real-time authentication and fraud prevention measures, it ensures safer and more reliable online shopping, ticketing, and payment experiences for cardholders. This step not only strengthens consumer trust in digital channels but also supports the broader push towards a cashless economy, bringing Nepal in line with international standards of payment security.
