Kathmandu : Following the successful launch of Proton e.MAS 7 160kW in Nepal, Jagdamba Motors, the sole authorized distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal, is now gearing up to expand its EV lineup in the Nepali market. The e.MAS 7 has been receiving strong and positive response from Nepali consumers since its introduction, encouraging the company to accelerate its EV plans.

A look at Proton's remarkable performance in Malaysia makes this direction clear. In Malaysia, Proton recorded a 329% surge in electrified vehicle sales between January and April 2026, with over 11,617 units delivered in just four months. Responding to this overwhelming demand, Proton has committed a RM37 million investment to expand its EV factory in Tanjung Malim and more than double its annual production capacity to 42,000 units.

A spokesperson at Jagdamba Motors said, "The response we have received for Proton e.MAS 7 in Nepal has been very encouraging. It has shown us that Nepali consumers are ready for electric mobility and are actively looking for quality options. We are excited about what comes next."

Currently, Nepali customers can experience the Proton e.MAS 7 160kW, a premium electric SUV powered by a 160kW electric motor with up to 475 km of driving range (NEDC). The vehicle features a 360-Degree Surround View Camera, an Innovative Headrest Speaker System, Advanced Intelligent Driving Technologies, and a spacious, futuristic interior with comprehensive safety and connectivity features. Customers purchasing the e.MAS 7 currently enjoy one year of free insurance, a one-year road tax waiver, a complimentary 7kW home charger, an 8-year manufacturer warranty, and attractive cash discounts.

Adding to the excitement, Jagdamba Motors is also preparing to introduce the Proton e.MAS 5 in Nepal soon. Malaysia's best-selling EV of 2026, the e.MAS 5 is designed for urban lifestyles and next-generation mobility, and is expected to bring Proton's advanced EV technology to a wider segment of Nepali consumers.

Beyond Proton, Jagdamba Motors is also the authorized distributor of TVS two-wheelers, Chery Wanda commercial EVs, and JMEV electric vehicles in Nepal, reinforcing its position as one of the leading companies in Nepal's growing electric mobility ecosystem.
