The meeting focused on safeguarding the rights, security, and dignified employment of approximately 14,000 Nepali workers in Mauritius, with particular emphasis on effective implementation of the bilateral labour recruitment Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and strengthening labour cooperation between the two countries.

Marking 45 years of Nepal-Mauritius diplomatic relations, the discussion also explored opportunities to strengthen diplomatic engagement, expand tourism cooperation, and deepen people-to-people ties.

Both countries share significant potential to promote cultural and spiritual tourism by connecting Nepal’s Himalayan landscapes and sacred destinations, including Pashupatinath and Lumbini, with Mauritius’s coastal attractions.

Parajuli expressed his gratitude to Minister Uteem for the warm reception and constructive dialogue, expressing confidence that enhanced cooperation would further strengthen bilateral relations and create mutual benefits for both nations.
